National KINvention 2018

Four members of our club (including 2 first-timers!) attended this years National KINvention in Sarnia, Ontario. This annual conference brings Kin Canada members from all across our country together to celebrate our successes, raise money for awesome causes, engage in service projects, educate ourselves and meet other like-minded KIN friends.

We spent a Day of Service working on several local service projects including painting a women’s shelter, helping out at a seniors centre, sorting clothing donations, packing food for hampers at the Food Bank, cleaning up the beautiful shoreline – really, just what we love to do!

Did you know that in our 2017/2018 Kin year, #KinCanada clubs all across our country have collectively raised over $20 million for Canadian communities and 6,239 members volunteered over 400,000 hours in 2017/2018! AMAZING! We are so proud of our association!

We are incredibly proud of our own Karen Moreland who competed in the Public Speaking competition – she totally rocked it!
Her topic: #Volunesia ♥

One of the highlights was witnessing a room full of caring KIN members – who happened to get #KinventionDetention raise an incredible amount of money for the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund – which provides bursaries for post-secondary students across Canada! INSPIRING!

We are so happy that the Calgary Kin Campus Club (UofC) won the HREF Ambassadors of Learning Award for their contribution to Kin Canada Bursaries! Our club proudly won the inaugural award last year at National KINvention! We are proud to partner with the Calgary Kin Campus Club raising money for this important cause through our annual Comedy for Kin Causes FUNdraiser!

The Sarnia Club did a fabulous job of hosting and providing an unforgettable experience for everyone! #SarniYA Despite some travel hiccups – we really had an awesome time! Can’t wait till next year! #Nanaimo2019
